Time rush (2016)* (Low budget movie with a superficial plot and low production values - seriously, invest in a proper boom-mic, then maybe you wouldn't need to re-dub everyone. But, its going to be a successful movie, it will more than make its money back simply because it delivers on what it promises, and they've maximised cost-efficiency e.g. by using Thailand as their base. Plus some of the fight action is kickass... its almost like montage of fighting set pieces)

Deadpool (2016)**' (I've never really enjoyed the recent wave of comic book movies, too much story not enough time - I prefer TV shows, although even then they get messed up. But, this was special, critics hated it, but it'll be one of those movies that will be driven by its fans - metacritic: 64, users: 8.4 It was just a fun movie... no strong plot, just a good Friday evening, 'don't want to use my brain and laugh' movie)

The hunger games Mockingjay part 1-2 (2014-15)*' (Not bad, better than I thought. Very unsubtle with its message, but at least it was consistent. I feel as though the two movies could be combined to make one 3hr movie... but that would make the studio less money. I think the weakest performance was given by Julianne Moore - who seemed as though she phoned it in, followed closely by Jennifer Lawrence - she's either staring at something or crying)

London has fallen (2016)' (This movie is a bit of a mess... on the surface its a throwback to old 80s action movies with remorseless killing and the main character spouting Schwarzenegger quotes - seriously, off the top of my head he said 'get to the chopper' and 'stay here, I'll be back' and then proceeded throw smoke canisters everywhere. Not exactly sure what the message was - I reckon it was 'Don't mess with America' because I can't think any other message can be taken seriously. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining in a mindless sort of way, but as with some fear driven propaganda-esque movies, its like everyone is incompetent except that one agent (including allied and opposing agents, armies - hell, entire countries). US drones had killed the guys entire family, and he just wanted revenge - so he kills everyone. At some points its difficult to know who to root for - finally, the CG is some of the worst I have seen since Transformers 2)

The assassin (2015)^? (WT actual F did I watch... this movie had about 5mins of story stretched over 2hours. At best, this movie was full of beautiful set pieces that had an exposition that spanned those landscapes with the scenes representing the emotion of the characters felt at the time. At worst... this movie can best described as a Windows XP screensaver slide show of pictures from China with nothing going on in them. The 'story' was literally an assassin that didn't assassinate; she kept coming in the scene then just walking away, often just defending herself from the Lord of the court. I feel as though this is one of those things I'm not qualified to judge... or was just pretentious rubbish)
