The grand tour s04e04*'
Black mirror s04e01-06**' (Not as seminal as previous season - actually kind of silly at times. Episodes 1, 4, and 6 are the ones to watch)
Mrs Browns boys s01e01-06**'
Mrs Browns boys s02e01-06**' (Absolute gold, no idea why I hadn't watched this earlier)

17/12/22-17/12/28

Cunk on Christmas (2017)** (hilarious)
The grand tour s02e03*'
Young Sheldon s01e09*'
Justice league (2017)** (Probably the best of the (new) franchise, with Danny Elfman on board, snippets of the Burton era music kicks in at points, along with the original Superman theme. Having said that, seems as though they stole bits from the CW Flash series. Movie itself was entertaining enough, don't really have problems with it.)
Blade runner (1982)*** (Classic, not much more to say)
Blade runner 2049 (2017)** (An enjoyable movie, but wasn't as subtle with its twists than its predecessor)
Bright (2017)**' (Critically panned, but in my opinion, for all the wrong reasons. It seems as though critics had decided to hate this movie before it came out because of Netflix/Suicide Squad/not enough of an anti-racism message. Overall, this movie was good, an interesting action concept in a sea of comic book movies and/or sequels.)
Maigret in Montmartre (2017)**
Not going out s08e00*'
Star trek continues s01e02-11**' (best Star trek series since the next generation - never realised how much of a sex pest Kirk was)
The red turtle (2016)**

Doctor Who s11e00*'
Agents of SHIELD s05e05*

I'm Alan Partridge s02e01-06*' (hadn't watched this, gave it a shot, quite funny)
The Crown s02e01-10**' (Stark contrast with Victoria, giving very different messages of what it means to be a monarch, although this is definitely more real)

17/12/21

Stan against evil s02e01-08**

17/12/20

Pokemon the movie: I choose you (2017)**' (This was really good, the corny over emotive bits actually did elicit something out of me).
Jean Claude Van Johnson s01e01-06** (Enjoyed this, despite how stupid it was. Might be worth watching when drinking or high.)
Boruto s01e38*
Office party (2016)* (Semi enjoyable movie, save for a quiet Friday night around Christmas)

17/12/19

Have I got news for you s54e10*'
Star wars VIII: the last Jedi (2017)* (This was not a great movie, so many unignorable plot holes, so many hollow characters - disappointed with Rey's progression, she did very little here, and apart from Kylo Ren, couldn't care about the rest or their deaths. I found the movie kind of boring, too many people not enough time building them up.)

Tales s01e08*'
The gifted s01e10'
Travellers s02e09-10** (Good end, looking forward to next season)
The Indian detective s01e01-04*' (This was weird - it was a slightly confused show, I get the feeling that it was supposed to be a full season, but was pulled and turned into a four episode mini series. Still an interesting, and somewhat funny show)

Terminator 3 (2003)* (Inspired by watching the first two movies, I decided to watch the others in the francise. This movie is terrible - after the greatness of the first two, this is what we get as the third. It has almost no redeeming features.)
Terminator salvation (2009)** (A better movie than the last - however, many plot holes, with much of the ending making little sense. Decent movie though.)
Terminator genisys (2015)*' (The movie should have just ended after the first 25 mins - this was by far the best part of the movie, playing on the nostalgia of the first movie. From there, it went rapidly down hill.)

The Terminator (1984)*** (I watched this as the 4k 3D version of Terminator 2 is in the cinema for one night only. There was a remastered version that came out a while ago. This is still a classic, the remastering has helped it age better, but you appreciate how good this was given when it was made.)
Terminator 2: Judgement day (1991)***' (20 years of the anniversary of original Judgement day, this movie was re-shown in the cinema. In terms of 3D, there were two scenes to note - the initial future scene was amazing, with the lasers and robots - the terminator vision scenes, where the stats/scans in white were flat but the environment in red is in 3D, with some additional 3D scenes like the computer factory/mini-gun scene and when T800 points the gun at the camera also being excellent. Its the best 3D movie I've seen, but not having the 3D does not take away from how good this movie is. In my opinion, the greatest movie in history - and I'm glad I got to see it in the cinema).

17/08/28

Game of Thrones s07e07**' (With all the hype of this season, I was slightly disappointed with this episode. It's still very good, but the execution in Winterfell and the 'boat' were not subtle. It was as if it was forced to be implemented by fans - this is not how Ice and Fire is supposed to go).

Rick and Morty s03e06**' (Excellent episode - especially that subtle detail when Morty goes with a flip phone and then back to a smart phone)

Death note (2017)*' (Admittedly, I've never seen the anime - I feel as though this movie's pacing is off. No exploration of Mia for example, which means, anything that happens to her, we don't really care, and don't understand why she does what she does (I'm a cheerleader is not an exposition) - saying all this though, I enjoyed it, so much so, I might look up the anime)

17/08/24

BBC India's partition the forgotten story (2017)*' (good watch, although, I feel as though it is biased, maybe for good reason?)
Agents of SHIELD s04e16-22** (actually, this last quarter of this season was not bad)

17/08/23

The Defenders s01e06-08** (Like most Netflix Marvel shows, it builds up really well.. and then the ending is a let down. At least it wasn't as bad as Luke Cage.. this is one of the better ones though, I enjoyed it.)
Prison break s05e07-09*' (So many plot holes.. like seasons 2-4, things would not happen this way, e.g. like Linc being able to just leave the hospital after a gun shot)
Baywatch (2017)** (Went into this wanting to hate it, ended up liking it far more than I should - typical millennial movie, some good cheap laughs to be had, not like the 90s show though, but contained enough 'cheese' to make this enjoyable.)

The Carmichael show s03e08** (seriously though, this is the best comedy on TV at the moment)
Preacher s02e04**
The Mummy (2017)* (nowhere near as good as the 90s version, with Tom Cruise and the female lead (not being sexist, she's not very well known) adding very little to the movie. Most of the movie was just set pieces which may you wonder 'wait, how did they end up there?' or 'they easily over powered that mummy, how are they so inept now? What happened to all their personnel?' - basically Jake Johnson carried this movie for the 4 scenes he was in)

The handmaids tale s01e08-10** (very harrowing, lets see where this goes next season)
Boruto s01e14*'

17/07/08

Wonder Woman (2017)*' (The best DC movie since the Nolan Batman series, and it wasn't actually that great. It was basically following the Marvel movie formula, and at this point that was their only chance of success. Honestly, they should just give up and stick with the TV serials, but people will go watch it, and they will make money. Also, how can they speak all the world languages if they never had contact with the outside work, languages change! I decide to pick on this point, rather than the magic lasso and idea of modern day Greek Gods.)
Revolt (2017)' (A mostly forgettable movie, I guess it delivers what it promises, probably got its money back considering its low budget)

Loaded s01e06*
Orange is the new black s05e04*'
The Putin Interviews s01e01** (very enlightening, he has a way of speaking that makes you come round to his side - you sort of understand his point of view on America... but then you remember Crimea, the homophobia, sexism, rampant racism that goes on there (not that that stuff doesn't happen on the US's watch either mind), and its more like counter arguments more than anything else)

2017-06-14

17/06/13

Orange is the new black s05e03*
Horizon s56e08' (This really annoyed me, there were some interesting things in here, but the way it was presented and padded, and the completely out-of-place host, who kept trying shoehorn in medicine with computer science)
Genius s01e08*'
Power rangers (2017) (OK, I was the biggest fan of Power rangers in the 90s, but I knew/know how cheesy and cringeworthy it is/was. I had little expectation going in to this, but the simplest thing I can say about this movie is that its just boring. From that initial cow/bull 'joke', I knew it was downhill. Its up there with that awful Dragonball evolution movie. Please stop Hollywood.)

Trainspotting 2 (2017)** (So both these movies need to be watched back to back... first ones a classic, I think everyone already knows of it, one of the best written movies. This movie.. there is much nostalgia, and they try to show how complex people were and can become. But its like it is cram too much into a short movie but leave too much incomplete. Still a good watch though.)
Genius s01e05-06** (this has really got me hooked)
Into the Badlands s02e10**
Why him? (2016)* (Its a standard 'feel good' movie, like 'Meet the fockers' but the boyfriend is the weird one. As always, everything gets wrapped up in the last 10 mins and its full of plot threads that are ignored or swept under the carpet - do people really think staff/equipment/business models and contacts at a papermill can change to one producing electric toilets that quickly! I think this is a thought process that citizens and politicians in most western countries have - to their detriment. Investment in re/education and infrastructure is needed, both privately and publicly.)

Gotham s03e16*'
Carters get rich s01e05-06* (its like a kids show but with some very adult themes, slightly confusing at times at to who this is aimed at)
Ghost in the shell (2017)*' (Meh... that's my official take on it. It isn't that offensive when considering the original anime, but it in no way stands up to it)

2017-04-24

17/04/23

Designated survivor s01e01-04*' (OK, so this is another mass appeal drama (...'stupid people show'..) which has to be understandable by all but makes it pandering and sometimes insulting to regular viewers' intelligence. But, this has a good concept and there's enough there to ignore some of the tropey and cringey bits. Actually looking forward to where this is going.)
Dragon ball super s01e87*'

17/04/22

Have I got news for you s53e01**
Doctor Who s10e01-02**

17/04/21

Broadchurch s03e07-08** (this was good... a formulaic seeing as its the same ones they used in the first two seasons (esp season 1).. which leads to a slightly anti-climatic end... also there's some really cringey tv tropes in this season, they're better than that)
Boruto s01e03*

Broadchurch s03e03-04**

2017-04-19

17/04/19

Broadchurch s03e01-02** (Apart from the main story, there's a definite anti-millennial message in these two episodes - 'every' young person is seen as cold, an inconvenience, suspicious and/or spoilt. Fear of the new? Actual ageist undertones - I guess its to show how 'backward' the west country is, but that's blatant stereotyping too.)
Trial and error s01e12-13**'
Brooklyn nine nine s04e14*
The middle s08e20*
Brockmire s01e01-03** (very good, its that baseball announcer from the Simpsons, but with much darker comedy)

17/04/17

Last week tonight with John Oliver s04e09**
Samurai Jack s05e05**
Iron fist s01e06-13*' (it was ok - relationships were all over the place, and people were far too accepting of dead people coming to life - not the best netflix marvel tie, but not that bad either)

17/04/15

Logan (2017)*' (an OK end to the Wolverine and Prof X story, very violent, but as it should be)
Iron fist s01e01-05*' (so, it turns out Iron Fist is blonde with green eyes, so not sure on the whole racist thing. But the story has a lot of short comings, within the space of an episode, his childhood friend has ordered his murder then in a few days he sues him for everything, then they become best mates... hmm)

17/04/14

Archer s08e02**
The detour s02e10-12*'

2017-04-12

17/04/11

Boruto s01e01* (I know its got extra bits in the title, but somewhat ironically the message of this show was to get out of Naruto's shadow, but its right there in the title - 'Boruto:Naruto next generation'. The show is basically the same Naruto with no element of danger yet.)
The middle s08e19*
The Mick s01e15*'
Brooklyn nine nine s04e13'

17/03/19

Samurai Jack s05e02**
Star wars rebels s03e19**
Rouge One (2016)*** (Entering the weird and wonderful universe of Star wars with the possibility of anything happening was somewhat lost in episode 7 - this movie retained it)

Tracey Ullmans show s02e06*'

17/03/17

Beauty queen and single s01e01' (..hmm)

17/03/12

Samurai Jack s05e01** (yeah, its back.. this time not restricted by CN censors!)
Star wars rebels s03e18*
Miss Sloane (2016)** (its very 'newsroom', in fact half the cast are here... its a decent watch with a very slow start)
Making history s01e01*' (ok comedy, could become one where I leave it later on if it doesn't pick up)
Legion s01e05** (just learned that reading the wiki page on Legion makes this so much more understandable.... shouldn't have to do that)

2017-03-11

17/03/11

Naruto shippuuden s01e498*'
MacGyver s01e18*' (Hawaii five-o crossover, not really needed, but there's something about 80's remake crossovers)
SS-GB s01e01-03** (Was warned about mumbling so had subtitles, wasn't that bad really. Slightly unsubtle exposition but a decent drama, a good watch)

17/03/10

Portlandia s07e10*'
Powerless s01e05*
xXx return of Xander Cage (2017)*' (exactly the movie that you'd expect, totally unrealistic, but you will know whether you'd like this movie or not before you watch it)
24 legacy s01e06' (hmm, this happened one episode late, it normally happens in episode four, not really a major disaster considering nuclear bombs have gone off by now)
Supergirl s02e15*
